PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Wilma M. Schumer, 92, of Perryville died Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Independence Care Center of Perry County.
She was born Nov. 15, 1916, in Biehle, Mo., daughter of Theodore and Mary Ruch Lappe. She and Edward F. Schumer were married Nov. 15, 1941. He died July 18, 2004.
Schumer was a cook in dietary at Ann Paterson Nursing Home.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Gebhardt, Tammy Brown both of Perryville; two brothers, Nestor Lappe of St. Peters, Mo., Sylvan Lappe of St. Louis; a sister, Mary Lou Timpe of Quincy, Ill.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild.
Schumer was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Sodality, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and was a Eucharistic Adorer.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to the time of Mass at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Joe Williams will officiate.
Burial will be in the St. Maurus Catholic Cemetery in Biehle.
Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville was in charge of arrangements.
