Wilma C. Myers, 94, of Friedheim passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2018, at her home.
She was born July 23, 1924, in Apple Creek, Missouri, daughter of Edward and Josephine Schott Balsmann. She and Henry F. Myers were married Oct. 29, 1946. He passed away Aug. 24, 2003.
Wilma was a homemaker. She loved quilting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, and baking. She also enjoyed being outdoors working in her garden and flowerbeds. She was a member of St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, Missouri, and the St. Ann's Sodality and choir at church.
Loving survivors include three daughters, Vickie (Dan) Kutz of Cape Girardeau, Sister Betty Myers, S.S.N.D., of St. Peters, Missouri, and Michelle (Kevin) Roth of Jackson; two sons, Hank (Jane) Myers of Perryville and Greg (Shella) Myers of Eminence, Missouri; nine grandchildren, a stepgrandchild, eight great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild; two brothers Edward (Doris) Balsmann of Old Appleton and Elmer (Joyce) Balsmann of Perryville, Missouri; a sister, Flora Robert, and a sister-in-law, Rosalee Balsmann, both of Cape Girardeau.
Also surviving is a special friend and caretaker, Denise Egbuka.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years; an infant daughter, Kristi; her parents and two brothers, Herbert and William Balsmann.
Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
Mass will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Maurus Catholic Church in Biehle, with the Rev. Jim French officiating.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the St. Maurus Building Fund, the School Sisters of Notre Dame or a charity of choice.
