JACKSON -- Wilma Evelyn Lehmann, 78, of Jackson died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born March 21, 1921, at Neelys Landing, daughter of Gilbert and Florence Virginia Littleton Gohn. She and John Reinhart Lehmann were married Feb. 27, 1943. He died June 3, 1975.
During World War II, she did clerical work for the shipping yards in St. Louis. She later was a secretary at Central Junior High School and a cook at Southeast Missouri State University. She had also worked at Jackson Manor Nursing Home, Cox Dime Store, 7-11 stores in Cape Girardeau and Jackson, and had been a child care provider in her home.
She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ and its Friendship Circle.
Survivors include five sons, John Lehmann of Arp, Texas, David Lehmann of Tillamook, Ore., Paul Lehmann of High Hill, Peter Lehmann of Marble Hill, James Lehmann of Jackson; three daughters, Martha Lehmann of Tyler, Texas, Ruth Hodges of Tulsa, Okla., and Mary Friese of Jackson.
Also surviving are three brothers, Dean Gohn of Guntersville, Ala., David Gohn of Jackson, Dayton Gohn of Poplar Bluff; a sister, Marion Edwards of Cape Girardeau; 13 grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a great-stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Sam Roethemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
