BENTON, Mo. -- Wilma Ruth Compas, 90, of Benton went home to be with the family who have gone before her Tuesday evening, Nov. 2, 2021.
She was born July 28, 1931, to Dewey and Amy Chappell McCallister. She married Leon Edward Compas on June 5, 1949. He preceded her in death Aug. 6, 1991.
Wilma is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Norman) Baker; grandchildren, Amy Whitworth and Norman (Lindsay) Baker Jr.; great-grandchildren, Kali Whitworth and Elsie Baker; a beloved sister, Gerry Burkett; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; youngest daughter, Deborah Compas; and brother, Alvin McCallister.
Wilma was a member of Unity Baptist Church in Benton and, even though she spent the last several years at Chateau, her heart was always at Unity Baptist.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Benton.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will be in Unity Baptist Cemetery in Benton.
