EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Wilma Clemons of East Prairie will be held at 10 a.m. today at Shelby Funeral Chapel. Martin Lucas will officiate. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
Clemons, 70, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Dec. 21, 1928, in Supply, Ark., daughter of McClellan Dewey and Lou Bertha Purl Heppe Sr. She and James E. Clemons were married Feb. 1, 1945. He died June 4, 1981.
Clemons lived in Mississippi County most of her life.
Survivors include two sons, James Clemons of Sikeston, Billy Clemons of East Prairie; two daughters, Sue Brewer of Jonesboro, Ark., Sherry Shehorn of Springfield; three brothers, Dewey and Charles Heppe of Charleston, Earl Heppe of Essex; two sisters, Pat Gammons and Belle Smith of East Prairie; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, five sisters, and three great-granddaughters.
