SCOTT CITY -- Wilma Laverne Adams, 78, of Scott City died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1996, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 27, 1918, daughter of William H. and Lilly Doughty Downs. She and James "Holly" Adams were married March 8, 1941, in Cape Girardeau.
Adams was a member of VFW Auxiliary to Post 3838, St. Mark's Chapter 167 Order of Eastern Star, both in Cape Girardeau, and Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband; a brother, Linda Schranz of Collierville, Tenn., and a sister, Jean Austin of Paragould, Ark.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 5-8 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. William Dickey officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
