ADVANCE, MO. 00 Willis Sullinger, 86, of Advance, Mo., died Sunday, March 11, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 6, 1914, at Brownwood, Mo., son of Elmer and Adaline Hitt Sullinger. He and Mearle Ward were married Oct. 6, 1939, at Jackson, Mo.
He was a retired farmer and a member of Fairview General Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the infantry and in Italy.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shirley Owens and Carolyn Crites, both of Advance; two sisters, Fern Noble and Wilma Miller, both of Advance; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel. The Rev. Ray Placher and the Rev. Ray Greenlee will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Advance.
