Willis Lee "Brownie" Pind, 90, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Nov. 7, 2016, at his home.
He was born Dec. 1, 1925, in Cape Girardeau to Donald Richard and Mamie Bell Stevens Pind.
He and Hattie Aileen Sawyer were married March 15, 1947, in Cape Girardeau.
Brownie, a devoted husband, loving father and doting grandfather was an avid hunter, rock collector, storyteller, talented painter and pool shark.
He grew roses, loved to travel and decorated the house for Christmas like no other.
Brownie was a truck driver for ABF for 29 years, retiring in 1983.
He was an active member of Red Star Baptist Church and a member of the St. Mark's Masonic Lodge #93.
Survivors include his wife, Hattie Aileen Pind of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, LInda Jean (Ernest) Winburn of Walls, Mississippi; two sons, David Lee (Joni) Pind of Truesdail, Missouri, and Gary Dale (Cindy) Pind of Southhaven, Mississippi; a brother, Max (Carol) Pind of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Doris (Tom) Bucklety of Fairview Heights, Illinois; five grandsons; a granddaughter; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lindell Floyd Pind.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
Entombment will be at the mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Red Star Baptist Church or Crown Hospice of Cape Girardeau.
