CHARLESTON -- Funeral service for Willie Mae Butler of Charleston will be held at 2 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Bill Meeks will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Butler, 90, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 1994, at Charleston Manor.
She was born June 15, 1904, in the Belmont community, daughter of James and Lucy Jackson Burns. She and Theodore R. Butler were married Oct. 10, 1938. He died April 18, 1985.
Butler had worked at Brown Shoe Co. here, and attended First General Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Fred Haley, Charleston Route 3, Harold Haley of Charleston; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, sister and two grandchildren.
