SIKESTON -- Willie Joe Harrington Jr., 46, of Sikeston died Monday, Oct. 10, 1994, at his home. He was born April 2, 1948, at Sikeston, the son of Carleen Harrington of Sikeston and the late Willie Joe Harrington Sr. He was a child abuse investigator for the Division of Family Services. SIKESTON -- Willie Joe Harrington Jr., 46, of Sikeston died Monday, Oct. 10, 1994, at his home.

He was born April 2, 1948, at Sikeston, the son of Carleen Harrington of Sikeston and the late Willie Joe Harrington Sr.

He was a child abuse investigator for the Division of Family Services. He formerly worked for the Sikeston Department of Public Safety for five years.

He was a member of the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and was past chairman of the board. He was a member of the Peaceful Lodge #181 F&AM, Prince Hall Masons of Missouri of which he was a past master. He was past worthy patron of Ruby B. Hughes Chapter #117, Order of the Eastern Star, and Holy Royal Arch Chapter #8.

On Dec. 22, 1984, he married Elizabeth Geralds, who survives.

Other survivors include four sons, Willie Joe Harrington III and Damone Pullen, both of Denver, Col., Corey Harrington of St. Louis and Martez Bratcher of Sikeston; three stepchildren, Mark, Nikki and Steven Geralds, all of Sikeston; seven sisters, Shirley Love of San Francisco, Calif., Anita Patterson and Beverly Tucker of St. Louis, Sharron Thomas of Oakland, Calif., Gwendolyn Patterson and Lajuana and Wanda Harrington, all of Sikeston; a brother, Charles Harrington, St. Louis; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be 7-8 p.m. today at the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church. Masonic rites will be conducted at 7:30 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the West End Baptist Church with the Rev. James Howard of Rocky Mountain, N.C., officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston. Williams\Farr & Purnell Funeral Home of Sikeston is handling the local arrangements
