Willie L. Borgfield, 85, of Cape Girardeau and formerly of Longtown, Mo., died Saturday, June 23, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 3, 1915, at Fruitland, Mo., to William Henry and Augusta Wilhemia Caroline Puchbauer Borgfield. He married Ruby M. Maag on June 12, 1943. She died Aug. 8, 1986.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Longtown.
A veteran of the Army during World War II, he was a member of Perryville VFW Post 4282 and Perryville American Legion Post 133.
Survivors include two sons, Glen Borgfield of Altenburg, Mo., and Eric Borgfield of Longtown; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
His wife, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. today and 6:30-8:15 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A VFW wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. American Legion Post 133 will conduct graveside military services.
