THEBES, Ill. -- William H. "Rusty" Williams, 87, of Chattanooga, Tenn., formerly of Thebes, died Wednesday, July 2, 1997, at Erlanger North Hospital in Chattanooga.

He was born June 16, 1910, at Mill Creek, son of Richard and Nellie Bankston Williams. He married the former Naomi Butcher.

Williams retired as an engineer with U.S. Corps of Engineers. He was a member of a Masonic Lodge and Shrine Club.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jeanine Trachsel of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; and a granddaughter.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carl D. Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.
