CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for William (Billy) Whittaker Sr. of Creve Coeur, Ill., will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Revs. J.C. Mattox and S.S. Borum will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Whittaker, 45 years old, died suddenly Tuesday, Dec. 11, 1990, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
He was born April 23, 1945, in Cape, son of the Rev. Ellis and Helen Graham Whittaker. He and the former Laura Gill were married May 14, 1965, in Cape.
He lived in Cape until October 1969, and had worked at Central Packing Co. He was employed at Kiger Glass Co., and was a member of Laborers Local 231 in Pekin, Ill. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, William Whittaker Jr. and Mark Whittaker of Creve Coeur; his mother of Manito, Ill.; a sister, Carolyn Welter of Granite City, Ill., and a granddaughter, Paige Whittaker of Creve Coeur.
He was preceded in death by two sisters.
