CHARLESTON, Mo. -- William E. Turner, 72, of Charleston died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born July 21, 1928, in Chicago, son of Edward and Pearl Grimes Turner. He and Phyllis Clough were married Sept. 1, 1948.
Turner lived in Charleston most of his life. He was a foreman at Brown Shoe Co., retiring in 1990. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Diehlstadt, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Karen Hanor of East Prairie, Mo., Teresa Kuykendall of Charleston; a sister, Joann Genovese of Murphysboro, Ill.; and two granddaughters.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Tom Ayers will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
