CHAFFEE -- Funeral for William T. Thompson of Chaffee will be held at 7 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Rev. Watis Harrell will officiate. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Ash Grove Cemetery in Ash Grove, with the Rev. Hank Foster officiating.
Friends may call at the chapel after 4 p.m. today.
Thompson, 87, died Tuesday, March 16, 1999, at his home.
He was born Dec. 19, 1911, at Verona, son of Thomas and Martha Morman Thompson. He first married Esther Lowry in 1937. She died in February 1962. He later married Mabel Lumpkins Gill in 1962.
Thompson retired as a maintenance electrician with Frisco Railroad Co. in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Doris Frank of Honolulu, Hawaii, Carol Fletcher of Walnut Grove, Pat Batson of Springfield; a stepson, Bob Andrews of Jonesboro, Ill.; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
