SCOTT CITY -- William Thomas Mason, 85, of Scott City died Friday, May 14, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 27, 1907 in Ardeola, son of Henry and Ollie Jackson Mason.
On May 15, 1938, he married Ethel Pyle at Dexter. She survives of the home.
He was a brakeman on the Cotton Belt Railroad. He subsequently operated a used furniture and antique store in Scott City for 23 years.
He attended the Assembly of God Church in Scott City and was a member of the United Transportation Union.
Survivors, besides his wife, include one son, Ronald Mason of Scott City; three daughters, Charlotte McCarthy of El Paso, Texas, Shirleen Sando of Kennett, and Sharon Hale of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Lessie Wilson, Ferndale, Mich., and Norma Turney and Murna Brock, both of Fredericktown; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Home in Scott City.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Assembly of God Church in Scott City, with the Rev. Luther Rhodes and the Rev. Larie Burdine officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
