JACKSON -- Funeral service for William Thomas Minner of Jackson will be held at 1 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Culbertson will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 8:30 a.m. to service time.

Minner, 70, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 1994, at Jackson Manor.

He was born May 1, 1924, in St. Louis, son of Richard and Mary Gibbs Minner. He first married Marie Lee Weston Oct. 25, 1941. She died Aug. 10, 1971. He then married Vera Gast Nov. 18, 1972.

Minner was a truck driver for Cape Ready Mix. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Jackson and the Teamsters Union.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Richard Minner of Scott City, Ike Minner of High Ridge, Robin Minner of Cape Girardeau, Patrick Minner of Gordonville; five daughters, Toni Stanton of Scott City, Mary Crigger, Jacquelyn Woods and Terry King of Jackson, Martha Robertson of Cape Girardeau; five stepsons, Tom Gast of Acworth, Ga., John and Don Gast of Jackson, Mike Gast of Portland, Maine, Danny Gast of Blytheville, Ark.; three stepdaughters, Darlene Bridges of Taylor, Mich., Mary Lawrence of Cape Girardeau, Terri Woods of Gordonville; two brothers, Jack Minner of Edwardsville, Ill., Richard Minner of Osage Beach; two sisters, Laura Jo Larrabee and Sallye Burlingame, both of Glen Carbon, Ill.; 25 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 21 stepgrandchildren, and 11 great-stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son.
