PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- William L. "Red" Satterfield, 76, of Perryville died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at his home.
He was born Jan. 27, 1930, at Morehouse, Mo., son of Roy and Mary Hines Satterfield. He and Floetta Jean McDonald were married Aug. 22,1982, in Perryville, Mo.
Satterfield worked in construction for John J. Smith Construction in St. Louis, for several meat processing companies in Perryville, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
He was a member of Saline Lodge 226 in St. Mary, Mo.; a member of LIUNA Laborer's Union Local 110 in St. Louis; a charter member of the Perryville AMVETS; and a former member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harold Wallace of Prairie du Rocher, Ill., Clyde Satterfield of Perryville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Miller Family Funeral Home in Perryville. AMVETS service is at 6:30 p.m., and Masonic service will be at 7:30 p.m.
Visitation will continue Thursday from 6:30 a.m. until time of service.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Don Estes will officiate, with burial at Home Cemetery with graveside military honors by VFW Post 4282.
