William R.T. Hughes, 75, 21 Village Drive, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 16, 1916, at Fornfelt, son of William and Donnie Hazel Hughes. He and Gladys Daugherty were married Jan. 16, 1942, in Hernando, Miss.
Hughes was employed by Cotton Belt Railroad 45 years, retiring as an engineer in 1981. He was a member of Cape Bible Chapel, Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, and was a volunteer engineer with St. Louis Iron Mountain and Southern Railway.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marsha Lee of Jackson, and a brother, J.G. "Dude" Hughes of Fairfield Bay, Ark.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. Hal Greene will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
There is no visitation.
