PULASKI, Ill. -- William T. "Buddy" Rouse, 93, of Pulaski passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his home. Buddy was born March 20, 1929, in Mounds, Illinois, the son of the late E.Y. and Birdie Brown Rouse. He was a 1948 graduate of Olive Branch (Illinois) School and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. PULASKI, Ill. -- William T. "Buddy" Rouse, 93, of Pulaski passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022, at his home.

Buddy was born March 20, 1929, in Mounds, Illinois, the son of the late E.Y. and Birdie Brown Rouse.

He was a 1948 graduate of Olive Branch (Illinois) School and a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He owned and operated Rouse Grocery Stores in Olive Branch, Pulaski and Cairo, Illinois, for several years.

Buddy was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church in Olive Branch, where he served as a deacon and board member for 30-plus years. He was a member of the Caledonia Masonic Lodge No. 47 A.F. & A.M. and the Order of the Eastern Star No. 587, and he was a Shriner. Buddy also had other various achievements.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Masterson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Delores Rouse; daughter, Sherrie (David) Malone; sister, JoAnn Carter; grandchildren, Jenna (Brent) Britton, Taylor (Kyle) Lacey and Aryn Malone; great-grandchildren, Kevin, Abagayle and Noah Britton and Levi Lacey.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Friday at Trinity Assembly of God Church in Olive Branch.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Pastor Stephen Clardy will officiate. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Olive Branch. Full military honors will be presented by the U.S. Marine Burial Team and American Legion Post 178.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorials to the Trinity Assembly of God Church in memory of Buddy Rouse.
