DONGOLA, Ill. -- William John Peters Jr., 57, of Dongola died Wednesday, July 26, 2006, at his home.
He was born Aug. 30, 1948, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., son of William John and Margaret Pribbanow Peters Sr.
Peters served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and received a Purple Heart. He was a member of McClure American Legion Post 0900.
Survivors include three brothers, Wayne and Charles Peters of Anna, Ill., Dallas Peters of Elburn, Ill.; three sisters, Janet Gguth and Linda Martinez of St. Charles, Ill., and Barbara Hastings of Murray, Ky.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Davis Prairie Cemetery east of Marion, Ill., with Dr. Rick Hertenstein officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna is in charge of arrangements.
