ANNA, Ill. -- William Paul Murphy, 87, of Anna, died Monday, Oct. 30, 1995, at his home.
He was born Nov. 22, 1907, at Mt. Pleasant, son of Sylvester S. and Minnie Susan Moak Murphy. He married Vivian Robinson Murphy, who died May 28, 1992.
Murphy was a member of Lacon Baptist Church in Lacon, and a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Deloris Hoyle of Long Beach, Calif., two sisters, Opal Brimm and Gladys Hankla of Anna; two brothers, Homer Murphy of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Patrick Murphy of Magalia, Calif.; three granddaughters; five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Steve Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in Dongola American Legion Cemetery, with graveside rites by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455.
