SIKESTON -- William Orville Gruen, 88, of Sikeston died March 14, 1993, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. He was born Aug. 22, 1904, at Fruit Station, Ill., to the late Charles and Amelia Louise Freidhoff Gruen. He had been a resident of the area since 1917. SIKESTON -- William Orville Gruen, 88, of Sikeston died March 14, 1993, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Aug. 22, 1904, at Fruit Station, Ill., to the late Charles and Amelia Louise Freidhoff Gruen.

He had been a resident of the area since 1917. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Men, and a member and former bus driver for R.S.V.P.

He was a retired farmer and had later worked at Anchor Toy Co. in Sikeston. He is survived by one brother, Nelson Gruen of Matthews; one sister, Cora Geske of Matthews; two nieces and two nephews.

One brother and two sisters preceded him in death. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel with the Rev. Gary Carter, associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
