OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- William Preston "Bill" Morgan, 72, of Olive Branch died at noon Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Sept. 26, 1933, in East Prairie, Mo., son of Tom and Alma Powers Morgan. He married Beulah Bigham.
Bill worked as a repairman on farm equipment. He was a member of Alexander Free Will Baptist Church.
He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah Morgan of Olive Branch; two daughters, Carolyn Nix of Olive Branch, Connie Dowdy of Tamms, Ill.; two sons, Robert Pearman of Advance, Mo., Steve Morgan of East Prairie; nine grandchildren, Andrea and Michael Nix, Justin and Tara Dowdy, Brianne, Jake, and Riley Pearman, R.C. Strand and Stephanie Morgan; four brothers, F.E. "Nub" Southard, Bud, Jack and Larry Morgan, all of East Prairie; two sisters, Iva Hatton of Belleville, Ill., Shirley Jeude of St. Louis; nieces; nephews; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Suzette; and five brothers.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Earnest Brown and Verlee Eaker officiating. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery with full military honors by Pulaski County VFW Post 8891.
