CHAFFEE, Mo. — William Miller, son of the late Donald C. and Nellie McCulley Miller, was born Nov. 29, 1942, in Dutchtown and departed his life Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at his home in Chaffee, at the age of 80 years. CHAFFEE, Mo. — William Miller, son of the late Donald C. and Nellie McCulley Miller, was born Nov. 29, 1942, in Dutchtown and departed his life Monday, Dec. 12, 2022, at his home in Chaffee, at the age of 80 years.

He was a union laborer for many years, but his passion was training thoroughbred race horses. William was a member of First Christian Church in Chaffee.

In March 1966, he was united in marriage to Phyllis Ann Held in Chaffee. She preceded him in death Feb. 10, 2022.

Survivors include a son, Tony Miller of Mount Vernon, Indiana; two daughters, Billie Carlton of Plain Field, Indiana, and Genni Ourth (fiance, Charles Thomas) of Chaffee; six grandchildren, Courtney (Caleb) Koehler, Tori (Corey) Drum, Hunter Ourth, Austin (Masey) Carlton, Clayton Carlton and Charlie Carlton; and six great-grandchildren, Annistyn Koehler, Holland Koehler, Wyatt Koehler, Camden Koehler, Piper Carlton and Crew Carlton, with a seventh -- McCoy Scott Drum -- due in January 2023.

Besides his wife and parents, William was preceded in death by the noble mother who raised him from the age of 4, Beryl Miller; one son-in-law, Brian Ourth; and one brother, Donald Miller.
