CHARLESTON -- William Warren May, 82, formerly of Charleston Route 3, died Tuesday, May 7, 1996, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 7, 1914, in Blandville, Ky., son of Clyde Lee and Erma Helen Salee May. He and Eris Lehr were married Oct. 11, 1941.
May retired from farming in 1984. He was a member of Wyatt Baptist Church. May served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, four sons, Warren May of Morganhill, Calif., Ozro May of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Ronald May of Lilbourn, Stanley May of Charleston; four daughters, Naomi Brantley and Carolyn Swim of Charleston, Brenda Riggs of Bertrand, Gail Lee of Cape Girardeau; 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters.
Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5:30 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tom Bridges officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
