JACKSON -- William L. Schloss, 81, of Jackson died Saturday, Nov. 5, 1994, at Jackson Manor Nursing Home.
He was born April 29, 1913 in Jackson, son of Louis and Matilda Bingenheimer Schloss.
On May 28, 1938, he married Hazel S. Sides, who survives of Jackson.
He worked in Jackson for International Shoe Co. and subsequently Brennecke Chevrolet Co. before retiring.
He was a veteran of World War II. He was a private first class in the Army Air Corps and served in the Pacific theater at Fiji Island.
He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church and the Methodist Men's Club.
He was a member and past commander of Althenthal-Joerns Post No. 158 of the American Legion, and a member of the honor guard.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson. An honor guard service will be held at 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at New McKendree United Methodist Church with the Rev. Otto Steinhaus and the Rev. David Griffen officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
