SILVER LAKE -- William L. Layton, 75, of Silver Lake, died Saturday, April 25, 1992 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 13, 1916, in Perry County, son of Lawrence and Minnie Welland Layton.

He married Rosemary Gibbar on Sept. 17, 1942. She survives.

Other survivors are one son, Donnie Joe Layton of Perryville; two daughters, Carol Lukefahr of Perryville and Rosalie Zoellner of Maryland Heights; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

One son, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church at Silver Lake, the American Legion Post No. 133 and VFW Post No. 4282 of Perryville and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. A wake service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m.

Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, with the Rev. Charles Rice officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
