JONESBORO, Ill. -- William Basil Knight, 91, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion. He was born July 18, 1908, in Jonesboro, son of Isaac and Allie Whitley Knight. Knight had been an automobile mechanic. He attended First Presbyterian Church in Anna and was a member of American Legion Post 0147. He was a veteran of World War II...

JONESBORO, Ill. -- William Basil Knight, 91, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Marion.

He was born July 18, 1908, in Jonesboro, son of Isaac and Allie Whitley Knight.

Knight had been an automobile mechanic. He attended First Presbyterian Church in Anna and was a member of American Legion Post 0147. He was a veteran of World War II.

He is survived by a daughter, Imogene; and a sister, Wanda Alsip of San Francisco.

Private graveside service will be held at Casper Cemetery, with military rites by the Marion VFW Post. The Rev. Marion Mosley will officiate.

Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements.
