CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Funeral service for William Jacob Troester of Carbondale, formerly of Pulaski, will be held at 10 a.m. today at Huffman-Harker Funeral Home, with Matt Proctor officiating. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. at Big Prairie Cemetery in White County.

Troester, 73, died Sunday, Sept. 18, 1994, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born June 29, 1921, in Villa Ridge, son of Lindsey and Nannie Thurston Troester. He married Rosemary Cutchin, who died in 1984.
Troester had lived in Carbondale 25 years. He was retired from J.L. Simmons and the Carbondale Code Enforcement Office. He was a member of Western Heights Christian Church and Widowed Persons Support Services. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include a daughter, Marthael Troester of Carbondale; two sons, Timothy and Joseph Troester of Puerto Rico; two sisters, Mary Hooppaw of Bradley, Dorothy Palmer of Pulaski; two brothers, Robert Troester of Edwardsville, Russell Troester of Kent, Wash., and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother.
