William B. Hurley, 83, of Mount Dora, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at his home. He was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Simpson, Ill., son of Loy and Dimple Hurley. He and Evelyn Sheltrown of Michigan were married Dec. 7, 1943. She preceded him in death Dec. 10, 1997...

William B. Hurley, 83, of Mount Dora, Fla., passed away Monday, Nov. 7, 2005, at his home.

He was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Simpson, Ill., son of Loy and Dimple Hurley. He and Evelyn Sheltrown of Michigan were married Dec. 7, 1943. She preceded him in death Dec. 10, 1997.

Mr. Hurley was a paratrooper during World War II.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, David and Vickie Hurley and Mike and Barbara Hurley of Eustis, Fla.; four daughters and their husbands, Linda and Tom Alsip of Gentry, Ark., Dimple and Rodney Bridges of Cape Girardeau, Robin and Mark Temares of Mount Dora, and Michelle and Martin Altabos of Tampa, Fla.

He is also survived by nine grandsons and nine granddaughters; 12 great-grandsons and eight great-granddaughters; and a great-great-granddaughter.

The funeral was held Nov. 10 in Eustis, with military rites conducted.

Steverson Hamlin & Hilbish Funeral Home in Tavares, Fla., was in charge of arrangements.
