SIKESTON -- Funeral service for William Wallace Hosey of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home. Patrick Hogan will officiate, with burial in Forest Hills Cemetery near Morley.

Hosey, 70, died Monday, Feb. 26, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 6, 1925, in Savannah, Tenn., son of William Earl and Fleecie Mae Godwin Hosey. He and Virgie Gates were married Dec. 21, 1945.

Hosey was a self-employed painting contractor, and member of Shady Acres Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gene Hosey of Sikeston, John Hosey of Poplar Bluff; two daughters, Patti Kenser of Sikeston, Joyce Wells of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Vernon Hosey of Freeburg, Ill., James "Buddy" Hulen of Sikeston; four sisters, Bobbie Spurlin, Jane McCain and Elizabeth Gates of Sikeston, Tennie Glick of Jeffersonville, Ind.; eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
