OLMSTED, Ill. -- William "Bud" Holmes, 69, of Olmsted died Monday, March 10, 1997, at Union County Hospital in Anna.

He was born Aug. 11, 1927, at Tunnel Hill, son of Julius and Nora Simmons Holmes. He married Elsie Watson, who preceded him in death.

Holmes was retired from Southern Clay Inc.

Survivors include two daughters, Rita Nicholes of Villa Ridge, Billie Nicholes of Waverly, Tenn.; a son, Kyle Holmes of Olmsted; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Masonic Cemetery in Cypress. The Rev. J.R. Wood will officiate.
