William Robert Hindman, 68, 2310 N. Sprigg Street Road, died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 11, 1928, in Jonesboro, Ill., son of Paul and Olive Casper Hindman. He married the former June Carey.
Hindman was a driver with Carl Baggett Line several years, and then was a driver 31 years with Commercial Transport.
He attended Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church; was a member, former trustee and president 14 years of Teamsters Local 574; member of St. Mark Masonic Lodge; Elks Lodge; National Rifle Association; and Sword of Bunker Hill. He was a former member of Scottish Rite.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kim Hindman of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Joy Marie Jauch of St. Louis, Jo Ann Culpepper of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Terry Hindman of Fairview Heights, Ill., Mickey Hindman of Marion, Ill., Randy Hindman of Anna, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 6-8 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Stewart officiating. Private graveside service will be held at Friendship Cemetery in Dongola.
