EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- William McGinnis Gifford, 77, of East Cape Girardeau died Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at his home.
He was born May 8, 1928, in Huntington, W.Va., son of William Scott and Violet Virginia Adkins Gifford. He and Audrey Darlene Ashline were married Jan. 5, 1948, in Kankakee, Ill. She died Jan. 20, 2001.
Gifford was a machinist and foreman 25 years with Bradley-Roper Manufacturing Co., retiring in 1988. He had lived in the McClure, Ill., area since 1989.
Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Brooks of Manteno, Ill., Darlene Musselman of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Robert Gifford of Largo, Fla.; a sister, Velva Wilhoyt of Kankakee; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
There is no local visitation or service. Burial will be at a later date in Kankakee.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
