WILLIAM G. HENSON

MOUNDS, Ill. -- William Gabriel "Gabe" Henson, 92, of Mounds, formerly of Olmsted, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1993, at Daystar Nursing Home in Cairo.

He was born March 10, 1901, in Perry County, Ill., son of Henry E. and Emma Reece Henson. He married the former Opal Louise Poole, who preceded her in death Jan. 7, 1984.

Henson was a retired farmer, and member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Russell Henson of Olmsted, Norman Henson of Sarasota, Fla., Robert Henson of Cypress; a brother, Harley Henson of Arnold, Mo.; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Jones Funeral Chapel in Villa Ridge. The Rev. Jonathan Althoff will officiate, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.
