William Henry Frierson, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Landmark Hospital. He was born Jan. 24, 1938, in Columbia, Tenn., to Sam H. and Janie Wilson Frierson. He and Callie S. William Henry Frierson, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Landmark Hospital.

He was born Jan. 24, 1938, in Columbia, Tenn., to Sam H. and Janie Wilson Frierson. He and Callie S. Davis were married Aug. 4, 2004, in Cape Girardeau.

William was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War.

He was employed by Southeast Stone Co. 32 years, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Second Missionary Baptist Church and of Laborers International Union of North America Chapter 1104.

Survivors include his wife, Callie S. Frierson of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Carmen Frierson and Tiffany Ashby of St. Louis; four sons, Derrick Frierson of Orlando, Fla., William Tyler Frierson of Cape Girardeau, Larry Williams of Battle Creek, Mich., and Reginald Frierson of Charleston, Mo.; two stepsons, Marvin Scott Jr. of Cape Girardeau and Christopher Scott of Hillsboro, Ill.; two sisters, Vivian (David) Greer and Elizabeth Hill of Michigan City, Ind.; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to service time Friday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at noon Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wiley Reed officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors by Missouri Honors Team.
