DEXTER -- William G. "Bill" Evans, 68, of Dexter, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at his home.
He was born July 18, 1929, at Dexter, son of Edison Evans and Hallie Evans Crutcher.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter and a former grain inspector for the MFA Exchange at Bernie, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the Stoddard County Association for Retarded Citizens.
He married Patricia "Pat" Davidson on July 2, 1949, at Santa Ana, Calif.
He is survived by his wife, of the home; two daughters, Pam Gray of Harrisburg, Ark., and Joy Lynn Evans of the home; four sisters, Mary Ellen Pippins, Betty Ann Mouser and Judith Kay Rimel, all of Dexter, and Patricia Sue Miller of Cape Girardeau; and three grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Broadway officiating. Interment will be in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter.
