William Lee Enderle, 80, of Scott City died Thursday, July 28, 2011, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 6, 1931, in Ancell, Mo., to Benjamin John and Dorothy Theresa Heuring Enderle. He married Rose "Sis" Holder on April 17, 1953.

William was a retired master chief from the U.S. Navy, a member of the Seabees and served during the Korean conflict and Vietnam War. He was a retired machinist from Lonestar where he worked for 43 years. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City; Knights of Columbus Council 6420 of Scott City where he served as a past grand knight; 4th Degree St. Joseph Assembly 2283; and Boy Scout leader for many years and VFW Post 6407 in Scott City.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, Lee (Annie) Enderle of Scott City and Tony Enderle of Farmington, Mo.; a daughter, Shelly (Tim) Brant of Scott City; a nephew, Matt (Michelle) Holder of Scott City; two brothers, Felix (Georgianna) Enderle of New Hamburg, Mo., and Tom (Reba) Enderle of Cape Girardeau; six grandchildren, Tyler and Jamie Brant, Brandi Enderle, Jake Brant, Ryne Enderle and Jacey Brant; one great-niece, Mallory Siebert; and two great-nephews, Luke and Lane Holder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Scott City. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m. followed by the Knights of Columbus service.

Funeral Mass with be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City with the Rev. Oliver Clavin as celebrant.

Burial will be St. Joseph Cemetery in Scott City with full military honors.
