MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- William J. Elledge, 53, of Marble Hill died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Dec. 18, 1952, in Granite City, Ill., son of William L. and Rose Alice Wright Elledge. He and Sherrie K. Stinson were married Sept. 30, 2000, in Marble Hill.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and Desert Storm. He also served in Grenada and Somalia.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, Dorothy Elledge of Marble Hill; his mother of Edwardsville, Ill.; his wife; a son, James Elledge of Grassy, Mo.; two daughters, Courtney Elledge of Cape Girardeau and Billye Elledge of Glenallen, Mo.; a brother, Chuck Elledge of Grassy; two sisters, Linda Chartrand of Livingston, Ill., and Brenda Jarman of Troy, Ill.; three stepbrothers, Brian Black of Tampa, Fla., Ronnie Hamm of Patton, Mo., and Michael Smith of Cape Girardeau; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters and a stepbrother.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Phillip Jordan officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery.
