JACKSON -- Funeral service for William Myron Eggers of Jackson will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Don Covington will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Eggers, 78, died Thursday, May 9, 1996, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born April 8, 1918, in Jackson, son of Myron Clelland and Flora Cathleen Koehler Eggers. He and Edith Marie Mehrle were married Sept. 29, 1950, at Jackson.

Eggers was a dairy farmer all his life. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson and VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ben Eggers of Mexico, Mo., Richard Eggers of Jackson, David Eggers of Fort Dodge, Iowa; a daughter, Diane Schweer of Jackson; a brother, Joe Eggers of Jackson; three sisters, Elizabeth Szwabo of Florissant, Madonna Englehart and Dorothy Pfeiffer of Jackson, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.
