CHARLESTON -- William "Hawk" Easton, 78, of Charleston died Thursday, Dec. 21, 1995, at the Charleston Manor Nursing Center following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 25, 1916, in Burdette, Ark., son of Matthew and Nellie Johnson Easton.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, a sister, a son, a daughter and his wife.
He is survived by three daughters, Leora Easton Hamilton and Toni Watts, both of Charleston, and Lula Mae Petterson of Toledo, Ohio; two sons, James Easton of Charleston and Nathan Campbell of Kansas City; two brothers, Ernest Easton of Gary, Ind., and Clarence Easton of St. Louis; three sisters, Rosie Cassell of Fort Wayne, Ind., Elnora Harris of South Bend, Ind., and Bertie Mae Sorrell of St. Louis; nine grandchildren; and a friend, Louella Davis.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sparks Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, with the Rev. Murry Williams officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
