CHARLESTON -- William Oneal "Bill" Croney, 77, Charleston Route 1, died Monday, April 29, 1996, at East Prairie Nursing Center in East Prairie.
He was born Feb. 28, 1919, in Walnut Ridge, Ark., son of Bedford and Belle Higgins Croney. He and Ruby Margaret Futrell were married Nov. 16, 1940.
Croney had been cattle foreman at Mount Level Farms since 1962. He was a member of First Baptist Church and had served as deacon.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Bobby Croney of Sikeston; two daughters, Maricene Maloney of Burton, Mich., Joye Neads of Advance; a brother, J.W. Croney of St. Louis; nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. George White officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery near East Prairie.
