William Cogo, 73, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Nov. 12, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Dec. 25, 1924, at Omaha, Neb., the son of Romano and Nazarina Druessi Cogo.

Cogo moved to Cape Girardeau two years ago and was a resident at the Missouri Veterans Home.

He served as a private first class in the Army during World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart, three Bronze Stars and a Medal of Good Standing.

He was a ceramic tile setter for DeMarco and Sons in Omaha for more than 30 years.

Survivors include a brother, Michael Cogo of St. Louis, and three sisters, Ann Marcon of St. Louis, Sarah Wiser of Dittmer and Frances Smith of Fenton.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday.

Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, with Jerry Politte officiating.
