FARMINGTON -- William Charles Wulfers Sr. of rural Farmington died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at his home. He was 79. He was born Oct. 7, 1918, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Anthony and Opal "Toon" Wulfers. He married Dorothy Mae Schlepphorst. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Farmington, LePere-McCallister American Legion Post #416 in Farmington and was a former member of Elks Lodge #1765 BPOE...

FARMINGTON -- William Charles Wulfers Sr. of rural Farmington died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998, at his home. He was 79.

He was born Oct. 7, 1918, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Anthony and Opal "Toon" Wulfers. He married Dorothy Mae Schlepphorst.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Farmington, LePere-McCallister American Legion Post #416 in Farmington and was a former member of Elks Lodge #1765 BPOE.

He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Anne Wulfers-Crawford and Camille Sutherland, both of Farmington; two songs, Robert Wulfers of Chesterfield and William Wulfers Jr. of Farmington; three sisters, Berthanne Bahr of Rolla, Dorothy Miller of Atlanta, Ga., and Marie Felter of Castleberry, Fla.; two brothers, Leon Wulfers of Festus and Joe Wulfers of Rolla; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a sister and two brothers.

Funeral will be held at 3 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Chapel in Farmington with the Rev. Tom Wissler officiating.

Private burial services will be held at a later date.
