SIKESTON -- William C. Baker, 84, of Sikeston, died Sunday, July 5, 1992, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 13, 1907, at Charleston, son of Abel L. and Ora Elma Clinnard Baker. He married Ida Huff, who preceded him in death. He and Mildred Jones Parr were married June 1, 1967, at Sikeston.
Baker graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1933. He received a bachelor of science degree in agriculture in 1940 and a master's degree in education in 1947, both from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
He taught six years at Jackson and Sikeston schools. In 1953 he became president and sales executive of Central States Grain Elevator Supply Co.
Baker was a member of First United Methodist Church, member of Rotary Club since 1940 and a past president, and became a Paul Harris Fellow in 1975.
Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Bill Parr of Topsail Island, N.C.; three sisters, Maegerie Ballinger of Charleston, Elsie Emrich of Tyronza, Ark., Flossie Ponder of Coolidge, Ariz.; 10 stepgrandchildren, and 18 great-stepgrandchildren.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Charles E. Buck officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
