William G. Bridgeman, 62, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2005. He was born in Galveston, Texas, and soon moved to Cape Girardeau. He grew up and completed a year of high school in Cape Girardeau before moving to St. Louis, where he finished high school. William G. Bridgeman, 62, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2005.

He was born in Galveston, Texas, and soon moved to Cape Girardeau. He grew up and completed a year of high school in Cape Girardeau before moving to St. Louis, where he finished high school. Bill attended Westminster College at Fulton, Mo., then transferred to and graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia.

Bill was a humor greeting card writer, spending the last 24 years with Hallmark Cards in Kansas City. He was a founding member of Heroes of Golf Society, a ragtag band of hackers affectionately known as HOGS.

He is survived by a son, Sam Bridgeman of Lakewood, Ohio; a daughter, Mandi Bridgeman of Aspinwall, Pa.; and a sister, Mary Prusia of Belgrade, Mo.

Bill's passion for life and gift of humor touched everyone he met.

A celebration of life was held April 9 in Kansas City. A brief graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.

Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
