William "Bill" Bond, 65, of Jackson died Saturday, March 11, 2017, at his home.
He was born Jan. 25, 1952, in Cape Girardeau to John and Martha Lee Portlock Bond.
He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps after 20 years of service as a decorated staff sergeant. He served as an embassy guard in Bangkok, Thailand.
He attended Notre Dame High School and St. Mary's Cathedral.
Bill worked as a bartender of Knights of Columbus Council 1111 for many years.
Survivors include a daughter, Charity; four brothers, David (Pat) Bond of Farmington, New Mexico, Christopher (Anna) Reynolds of Salinas, California, Shaugnessy (Monica) Reynolds of Poway, California, and Thomas (Sue) Reynolds of Terrace Park, Ohio; and four sisters, Beverly (Akiva) Belk of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Kathy (Ed) Welker of Gordonville, Caroline (Terry) Williams of Millersville and Mary Jo (John) Shaw of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stephen Reynolds.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral service will be at noon Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Marine Corps League Toys for Tots Program.
