BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- William Keith "Bill" Blue, 85, of Rolla passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011.

He was born in Poplar Bluff, Mo., March 31, 1925, to the late Ernest Keith and Mabel Beatrice Nicewarner Blue.

Bill attended Southeast Missouri State University and was an accomplished athlete.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II.

Blue served as circuit clerk of Stoddard County, Mo., past master of Bloomfield Masonic Lodge 153 AF&AM, past president of Bloomfield Kiwanis Club, life member of Disabled American Veterans, democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in 1984, member of Christ Episcopal Church since 1974, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also volunteered for other civic organizations.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Blue, and a sister, Mary Lou Montgomery.

He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes four daughters, Bonnie Blue of Bloomfield, Karen Lambeth and husband Daniel, Jill Sederburg and husband Edward A., and Amy Skyles and husband Brandon, all of Rolla; eight grandchildren; and other extended family members.

A memorial service celebrating the life of Bill Blue will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Episcopal Church in Rolla, Mo. His cremains will be placed in the church columbarium with full military honors.

Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
