SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- William N. "Bill" Barnhill, 66, of Springfield, formerly of Poplar Bluff, died Monday, April 7, 1997, at St. Joseph Hospital in Hot Springs, Ark.
He was born June 19, 1930, in Poplar Bluff, son of the late William T. and Janet Smithson Barnhill.
He and his wife Kathryn were married Oct. 29, 1948.
He lived in Poplar Bluff until 1970 when his family moved to Springfield. He had worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. from 1948 until 1987, when he retired as a supervisor. He was a charter member of the Temple Baptist Church in Poplar Bluff and a member of Southwestern Bell Telephone's Pioneer Club.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Deborah Barnhill Burnette of Springfield; a granddaughter, a nephew and a niece.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield. Graveside services will be Thursday at 3 p.m. in Woodlawn Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, with the Rev. Rick Seaton officiating.
